USE

The equipment is used for the continuous wrapping of two to four pipes with PE shrink-wrap film. The pipes may be of any length and an outer diameter of up to 100 mm.

FUNCTION

The machine consists of a pipe guiding device, shrink-wrap film bands guiding device, welding unit, and shrinking chamber with infra-red heaters. The bundles of pipes are conveyed through the machine by means of a two-belt discharger from a standard extrusion line for pipes, the bundle winding is realised by means of a standard winding truck. In the feeding device, the pipes unwound from several unwinders are formed into a required shape of the bundles and covered from the upper and lower sides with shrink-wrap film bands. In the welding unit, the bands are stretched on the circumference of the bundle and longitudinally welded. The fired-off edges are discharged by means of a pair of rubber rollers as waste. The bundles of pipes are then conveyed to the chamber with infra-red heaters where the film is finally shrunk and the bundle is tightened.

ADVANTAGES

The equipment facilitates the handling of the bundles of pipes in the course of their further use. The machine operation is very easy and consists only in feeding shrink-wrap film and pipes.
